Cars in German City Discovered Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Authorities stated they were notified by a resident who found a automobile in Hanau covered with red-colored substance

Roughly fifty cars have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.

Law enforcement say they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident discovered that a car in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued liquid.

The substance had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they added.

Police then found many other smeared automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement state preliminary tests show the substance was probably blood from a person.

"There is still no clue as to its origin; officials are presently not informed of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they stated.

Local authorities stated they were working "to solve the case" and have requested to the community for tips.

An important political figure stated the vandalism rendered him stunned and required to be solved promptly.

"This act affects the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing attack half a decade ago," he posted on social media, recalling the murder of nine people by a gunman targeting individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
